Set in the privacy of its own grounds but within the Castlerosse Park Resort, Kenmare House is a hidden treasure just 2 miles from Killarney town centre. This homely, yet impressive home, has an enviable location offering wonderful views over Killarney’s Lower Lake. It is surrounded by beautifully manicured mature gardens. With 8 bedrooms, Kenmare House can very comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests.
 
The main drawing room to the rear of the house offers beautiful views over the lake beyond. It is a stylish, yet comfortable and cosy room with welcoming open fire and sumptuous couches to sink into. Ideal for relaxing after a busy day of activities and exploring all that Killarney has to offer.
 
The library is the perfect place to escape and take five minutes of peace surrounded by books and with a cosy open fire.
The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you will need during your stay including electric hob and double oven, American Style fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and toaster. It is also very well stocked with plenty of crockery, china, cutlery, glassware and cooking utensils. There is a small dining table and chairs – ideal for grabbing a bite of breakfast before heading off for the day’s adventures. On arrival, you will be welcomed with a hamper filled with the kitchen essentials along with some locally crafted treats.
 
Double doors lead outside to the patio which is a stunning place to take in your surroundings and the views of the lake and mountains.
 
There is a separate utility area with washing machine and tumble dryer so you can keep on top of your laundry during your stay. 
 
The dining room is the perfect place to sit down and catch up over a lingering meal. There is plenty of space for up to 12 people to be seated around the table.
 
Of the 8 bedrooms, three are downstairs and the remaining five are upstairs. There are five bathrooms in all, four with a walk-in shower and the fifth has a bath with a shower over it. Four of the king-sized beds can be split into singles (zip n’ link). The other king bed is a true king and there are two single bedrooms. These three bedrooms share the one bathroom upstairs.
 

CASTLEROSSE PARK RESORT

Guests staying at Kenmare House are welcome to use the facilities of the Castlerosse Park Resort including bar & restaurant and leisure centre with pool. Please note that the Hotel closes seasonally from the start of November until mid-March but the pool remains open all year round.
 

PRIVATE CHAPEL

A novel feature of this lovely home is the private chapel that can be made available on request to guests who may wish to hold a ceremony within. Please enquire with us directly.

Walking
Nestled deep in the sleepy woodlands of the Killarney National Park, Kenmare House at the Castlerosse Park Resort makes for an incredible location to explore the wonders of the 25,000-acre park by foot with many more popular walks just a short drive away.

Horse Riding
What better way to explore the scenic sights and sounds of the Killarney National Park than on horseback. The Killarney Riding Stables, which offer a variety of riding trails and treks, is located just a convenient two-minute drive away from Kenmare House & Estate. Ride out into the heart of the park and discover the highlands of Kerry with its majestic mountain tops, evergreen forest glades and magnificent lakelands.
 
Cycling
Cycling is undoubtedly one of the best ways to experience the unspoilt beauty of the Killarney National Park and indeed the Kingdom of Kerry as a whole. At Kenmare House at the Castlerosse Park Resort, you can rent bikes directly from Reception and pedal straight into the demesne area of the park. From here, journey on to Ross Castle, Ross Island and the Blue Pool or the Killarney House and Gardens. This route is perfect for families as there are no main roads or traffic to navigate. Explore the wonders of Muckross by starting at the old ruins of the mystical Muckross Abbey right through to the magnificent Muckross House and Gardens, before cycling onwards to the magical cascades of Torc Waterfall and the wonderful woodlands of Dinis.
If you are looking for a more challenging cycle-route, then the famous Ring of Kerry cycle will be right up your path with its abundance of scenic wonders such as the Kerry Cliffs, Ladies View and the Lakes of Killarney.
Travel to some of the most picturesque rural villages in Kerry, such as Glenbeigh, Waterville and Sneem and stop off at some of the county’s most celebrated sandy beaches such as Derrynane and Rossbeigh.
